Terms of Service.
Terms and conditions for our private matchmaking services.
Effective date: October 24, 2026
These terms govern the private matchmaking services provided by Matchmake Chicago ("we," "us," or "our"). By engaging our services, purchasing a matchmaking package, or using this website, you agree to the applicable terms. Please read them carefully.
What the service is
Matchmake Chicago is a private, personalized matchmaking service serving Chicago and surrounding suburbs. We work directly with clients to understand their preferences and personally curate introductions to people we believe may be compatible.
We are a service, not a platform. There is no app, no swiping, and no grid. We don't host a browsable database of profiles and we don't provide any system for members to message one another. Every introduction is made personally by us.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You agree to give us accurate, current, complete information about yourself and to keep it current. Materially false or misleading information is grounds for ending the service.
Memberships and packages
We offer matchmaking services and packages whose scope, duration, and fees are established in the applicable written client agreement. That agreement is part of these terms and controls if it states a more specific commitment. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, fees are payable in advance.
What we promise — and what we can't
Matchmaking is a personalized, good-faith professional service. We commit to working diligently and honestly on your behalf.
We do not guarantee any particular romantic outcome. That includes mutual interest, a second date, a relationship, or marriage. Unless an exact introduction commitment appears in your written client agreement, we do not guarantee a specific number of introductions over a particular period. We provide professional effort, judgment, and a personalized search; chemistry and other people's decisions are outside our control.
Absolutely prohibited conduct
The following are prohibited without exception. They are stated here, in these terms, because they are conditions of the service and not merely policy preferences. You agree that you will not, in connection with Matchmake Chicago, this website, or any introduction arising from the service:
- Engage in, facilitate, or benefit from human trafficking or sexual exploitation. This includes sex trafficking, labor trafficking, involuntary servitude, debt bondage, and any conduct that induces a commercial sex act through force, fraud, or coercion, or that involves a person under 18.
- Offer, solicit, arrange, advertise, or pay for commercial sexual services, escorting, or any transactional sexual arrangement.
- Involve a minor in any way. Any attempt to involve a person under 18 in the service, any sexual conduct or sexual interest directed at a minor, and any child sexual abuse material are prohibited absolutely.
- Aid, abet, solicit, encourage, promote, normalize, conspire in, or attempt any abuse or exploitation of another person, whether or not the abuse takes place, whether the person is a client of ours or not, and whether you act directly or through anyone else. Encouraging another person to commit such conduct is treated the same as committing it.
- Subject any person to sexual assault, coercion, stalking, threats, intimidation, or physical, emotional, or financial abuse, including non-consensual recording or the non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
- Send or share sexually explicit or non-consensual material. This includes sending nude or sexually explicit imagery to us or to any person you're introduced to without invitation, and sharing, publishing, or threatening to share intimate images or recordings of any person without their consent.
- Use the service or any introduction for fraud, including romance fraud, or to obtain money, credit, or financial information from another person under false pretenses.
Serious violations may result in immediate termination of services, subject to the written client agreement and applicable law. We may notify law enforcement where appropriate, including without prior notice where notice would create a risk of harm, evidence destruction, or interference with an investigation. No promise of confidentiality prevents us from complying with lawful requests or reporting serious safety concerns under our Law Enforcement Request Guidelines.
What we ask of you
Our Acceptable Use Policy sets out in full what is and isn't permitted, and forms part of these terms. In short:
- Treat us, and everyone we introduce you to, with honesty and respect.
- Represent yourself truthfully — your identity, your relationship status, and your intentions.
- Protect the privacy of anyone you're introduced to. Don't share their information beyond the introduction or use it for any other purpose.
- Conduct yourself lawfully and safely in any meeting or communication that comes from an introduction.
Photographs and material you provide
Intake involves sharing photographs and personal details with us. Anything you provide must be of you, current, and accurate; you must hold the rights to share it, including where it depicts or describes another person; and it must not be sexually explicit, nude, or depict violence, abuse, exploitation, or any unlawful act. We do not publish client photographs or details, and anything shared with a potential match is shared privately, by us, and only with your agreement. Our full standards are set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
Your safety and your own judgment
You're meeting other adults of your own free will. We curate introductions thoughtfully, but formal criminal-background checks are not included unless expressly stated in your written client agreement, and we cannot guarantee another person's conduct or safety. Decisions about whom to meet, where, and when are yours. Consider meeting in public for a first date and telling someone you trust where you'll be.
Discretion
We handle your information with care, as described in our Privacy Policy. In return, you agree to keep confidential anything you learn about other clients and to respect the private nature of this service.
Declining or ending service
We may decline, pause, or end services for dishonesty, unsafe or disrespectful conduct, or material violations of these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. Any cancellation is governed by the applicable written client agreement and applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Matchmake Chicago and its owner and team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts, omissions, or conduct of any client or person you're introduced to. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed what you paid us for the service that gave rise to it.
Nothing here limits any liability that can't be limited under applicable law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above reflects the current version, and continuing to use the service after an update means you accept it.
